Midwest Forest Industry Show attracts national audience, competitions

The nationally recognized St. Louis show will play host to the National Game of Logging Finals

June 1, 2005—Jefferson City, MO: The entire nation’s wood products, timber harvesting and forest industry will turn its attention to the Show-Me-State September 23-24 as St. Louis hosts the 2005 Midwest Forest Industry Show at St. Charles Family Arena from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

MFIS consistently draws a large, buying, quality audience of the forest products industry’s key personnel. The state-of-the-art industry show is newsworthy for many reasons, but for the first time in MFIS history, it will play host to the 2005 National Game of Logging Finals.

“Adding the Game of Logging Finals solidifies the Midwest Forest Industry Show as a national event,” MFIS Committee Chair Bill Raynor said. “This will add to our loyal following of attendees that are spread across the United States.”

The MFIS offers more than a quarter of a million square feet of exhibits, displays, and active demonstrations in a region that boasts nearly 400,000 loggers and wood products professionals. Sawmill machinery, pallet machinery, chippers, debarkers, chainsaws, logging equipment, trucks, trailers, and service companies are a few of the segments of the industry that will be represented. Educational sessions will also be offered during the show.

The show’s location in St. Charles offers a wealth of entertainment to its visitors including casinos, shopping venues and exploring the St. Charles Historic District—one of the oldest river settlements in America. Just minutes from the St. Louis International Airport, the St. Charles Family Arena is easily accessible to exhibitors and attendees from throughout the U.S. and key foreign markets.

“Experiencing our convenient location and seeing the dynamic show in person has turned many one-time visitors into MFIS regulars,” MFIS Coordinator Glenda Fry said.
