Branson hosts national meeting for top forestry executives

Only second time Missouri has hosted conference; national speakers highlight event

June 14, 2004—Jefferson City, MO:  Branson, Missouri will be the temporary home for hundreds of the nation’s top forestry executives as the Missouri Forest Products Association (MFPA) hosts the annual National Council of Forestry Association Executives (NCFAE) Meeting, July 21-24, at the Chateau on the Lake resort.

Established in 1949, the only previous time Missouri hosted the conference was in 1987 in St. Louis. NCFAE currently has 164 members in over 40 states. NCFAE’s purpose is to further the wood products industry nationwide by developing government policies and legislation that protects the industry.

“NCFAE is an important part of the decision-making process in regards to government regulation,” NCFAE President & MFPA Executive Director Cory Ridenhour said. “The meeting offers educational forums to members to become better executives and the opportunity for peer interaction.”

Mark E. Rey, Under Secretary of Natural Resources & Environment, will enlighten executives during his July 22 luncheon keynote speech. Rey will be available to the media immediately after the speech.

“[Rey’s] appearance is perfect for an event with such a national audience,” Ridenhour said. “His message will equally benefit all executives.”

As part of July 23’s education seminar, nationally known strategic planner Joe Calhoon will address executives during the morning; and after will also be available to the media.

“Joe is a great presenter, teacher and a gentleman of exceptional integrity,” Ritz Carlton Hotel Vice Chairman Horst H. Schulze said.
