Press ReleaseMFPA Summer Meeting filled with national & local starsNetworking, education and recreation highlight the weekend’s activities May 11, 2004—Jefferson City, MO: Legislation, transportation issues, biomass and safety compliance will be a few of the important topics covered at the Missouri Forest Products Association’s Summer Meeting June 11-12 at Osage Beach’s Tan-Tar-A Resort in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Meeting attendees will be impressed with the level of national representation during the educational sessions. Representatives from the Department of Transportation, National Forest Service and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) will all lead separate educational sessions. “It is vital that we offer attendees access to exclusive national sources at the meeting,” Education Manager Glenda Fry said. “They will have access to national organizations that is not often experienced at the state level.” MFPA members and non-members are strongly encouraged to attend for their benefit as key members in the forest and logging industries will be discussing issues that effect daily business operations. In addition, all MFPA Executive Staff members will be available for interviews during this time. The public is always anxious to learn about the state of our forests as summer approaches and wildfire season begins. “People from all across the state are always surprised to hear the facts about forest fires—what causes them and how to prevent them,” MFPA Executive Director Cory Ridenhour said. Entertainment and recreation will take center stage during Saturday’s Family Day as the association hosts a golf tournament. Other events include an auction, awards banquet and committee meetings.
