timberlands now contain 28% more standing timber volume than in 1952

industry recovers 45% of all paper Americans use for recycling
7. Our forests
and trees are renewable natural resources; wood is recyclable, biodegradable and
durable-sometimes lasting for centuries
8. Avoid heavy
pruning of plants, trees and shrubs as leaves are expanding in early spring (APRIL
& MAY!)
9. Prune in the
winter (January, February) to minimize damage and to synchronize with the
natural growth cycle
10. Prune dead
limbs and branches any time, always cut at the base of limbs, at the base or
side of a branch and always above a bud
