Missouri Inconsistent Practices Program



Complaint Form

1.1_ Complaint is received by dedicated phone mail or registered on website.

1.2_ Upon receipt of complaint, packet containing registration form and educational material is mailed to person with complaint within 3 business days.

1.3_ Written, completed and signed registration form shall be returned within 30 business days.

1.4_ Registration form of complaint is reviewed by the Executive Director and is categorized as one of the following: Not Valid (1.5), Valid SFIŽ Member Company (2.1) or Valid SFIŽ Non-Member (3.1).

1.5_ Upon review, and the complaint is Not Valid, a letter of notification to person with complaint is issued. Appeal may be filed by the person with the complaint within 10 business days. With this appeal, it is directed to: Valid SFIŽ Member Company (2.1) or Valid SFI Non-Member (3.1).

Valid Complaint SFIŽ Member Company

2.1 The accused company forester and Regional Managing Forester are notified of complaint. The member company is asked to respond to the Executive Director within 30 working days of notification.

2.2 Upon receipt of report from accused company, the Executive Director determines if further review is required.

2.3 Letter of notification from the Executive Director is sent to the person with complaint and/or appeal. Appeal may be filed by the person with the complaint. In the event of an appeal being filed, it is directed to; professional forester for review with forest landowner and the logger to discuss, resolve and evaluate the complaint that has been issued..

2.4 After a review by the professional forester, a written report is compiled and sent to the Executive Director within 30 working days.

2.5 Upon receipt of report from professional forester, the Executive Director determines if further review is required.

2.6 Letter of notification from the Executive Director is sent to the person with complaint and/or appeal. Appeal may be filed by the person with the complaint. In the event of an appeal being filed, it is directed to; the SIC subcommittee for review and recommendations.

2.7 Once the SIC subcommittee has reviewed and made final recommendations to the appeal, a final letter of notification is issued to the person who filed the complaint.

Valid Complaint SFI Non-Member

3.1 A professional forester meets with the forest landowner and logger to discuss, resolve and evaluate the complaint that has been issued.

3.2 After a review by the professional forester, a written report is compiled and sent to the Executive Director within 30 working days.

3.3 Upon receipt of report from professional forester, the Executive Director determines if further review is required.

3.4 Letter of notification from the Executive Director is sent to the person with complaint and/or appeal. Appeal may be filed by the person with the complaint. In the event of an appeal being filed, it is directed to; the SIC subcommittee for review and recommendations.

3.5 Once the SIC subcommittee has reviewed and made final recommendations to the appeal, a final letter of notification is issued to the person who filed the complaint.
