Storm Damage Clean Up



2008 classes have not been sheduled yet, but are planned for the Fall

 

Mother nature sometimes leaves very dangerous situations after a severe storm.  During this one day course you will learn the safest way to handle the clean up of trees and materials. 

Issues covered will include: 

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Chainsaw condition
  • Damage assessment of work area
  • Starting point and progressive pattern
  • Preplan for each new hazard
    • Hazard/Obstacle recognition
    • Leans-rolls and twists
    • Up and down pressures
    • Individual cuts
  • Bucking and limbing techniques
  • Spring poles
  • Field exercises
    • Team selection
    • Team assigned a work area
    • Team makes a plan of the area
    • Select spokes person and saw operator
    • Check P.P.E. and chainsaw
    • Execute plan
